The recent Unilever research on the “stress–skin axis” reflects something I’ve observed throughout my career: skin is not just a surface - it is deeply connected to our internal state. 🔮
What this research makes clear is that stress impacts the skin at a biological level - weakening the barrier, disrupting the microbiome, and accelerating inflammation-driven aging. It reinforces the need to move beyond treating visible symptoms and toward addressing underlying causes.
At ieró Beauty™ this thinking is foundational. After decades in product development, I wanted to create formulas that deliver high performance while also acknowledging the role of emotional wellbeing in skin health. For me, sensoriality and ritual are not embellishments - they are functional tools that help regulate stress and support the skin holistically. To further ground this approach in science, we have partnered with KIND TO BIOME - A Microbiome Certification to validate our formulas through microbiome-focused testing and certification.
I believe this is where beauty is going: a convergence of science, sensorial experience, and wellbeing, where products support both how we look and how we feel.
Thank you to Cosmetics Business for highlighting this important research on the stress–skin axis - an area we believe will define the future of beauty
